I am Dr Lindsay Browning, a Chartered Psychologist, neuroscientist and sleep expert. As well as being a mother of two children, I have a Doctorate (DPhil) from the University of Oxford where I investigated the relationship between worry and insomnia. I founded Trouble Sleeping in 2006.
When I received my doctorate I realised that there was a desperate need for help for people suffering from insomnia and founded Trouble Sleeping. I am passionate about helping people of all ages to sleep well. Nothing makes me happier than helping someone from a place of desperation about their sleep to a place of peace! The sleep consultancy advice I offer is based on my expertise in sleep, and I do not prescribe any medication.
As a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society https://www.bps.org.uk/lists/cpsychol, a member of the British Sleep Society and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, you can be reassured that I am a qualified and respected professional in the field. I also have several academic publications about sleep and game theory.
In addition to my academic and professional qualifications, I have a husband, two young children and a Goldendoodle puppy – so I understand the reality of what it is like when you don’t get a good night’s sleep! I also understand that not one approach to helping you sleep better will fit everyone so I tailor my sleep solutions to fit you and your family. I will never ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with doing, nor understand.
Previously, I have lived in Singapore and then America with my family, but I am delighted to be back living in the UK after such an adventure around the world!
